Developer Scopey confirmed that Mega Mewtwo X and Y will debut in Pokémon Go during Go Fest 2026: Global, a free event on July 11th and 12th, 2026. The event marks the tenth anniversary of Pokémon Go. Assets for Mega Mewtwo X and Y were pushed to the game earlier this year, and Mega Mewtwo X was featured in key art for the game's fifth anniversary in 2021. During the global event, Mega Mewtwo will appear in 'Super Mega Raids', which require a large number of players due to the power of the Mega Evolved raid bosses. Success provides a chance to catch a normal Mewtwo and offers either Mega Energy X or Mega Energy Y, depending on the specific Mega Mewtwo encountered.
